See, we are not crazy! And other BDSM related news

Posted by: by surrender4love on September 14, 2008 @ 11:13 pm

The University of NSW in Australia conducted a study of at least 20,000 BDSM people and found something unexpected. What they learned was that people who engage in the lifestyle are actually more satisfied and happier than people who do not.

“People with these sexual interests have long been seen by medicine and the law as, at best, damaged and in need of therapy and, at worst, dangerous and in need of legal regulation.”

submissive journal: On wanting a sister

Posted by: by surrender4love on August 13, 2008 @ 11:56 pm

This journal entry comes from Daddy wanting me to explain why I want a sister, meaning having a poly D/s relationship addition for the long term.

Three things that I have always been that will not be changing: Pagan, Poly and Submissive. Those are three cornerstones that make up my personality and my existence.

I was raised as a Pagan and I have never been anything else. Being Pagan, gives me the understanding that as women we are not as our modern society wants to create us to be. We are all beautiful and a part of the world just as we are a part of each other. Women can enhance one another, support one another in ways that men cannot. I see all women as being apart of one another; what I do not see is the need to be made or manipulated into being something that we are not. For example, women do not naturally look like Barbie and we should not be thrown (or throw ourselves) into some societal pseudo-competition in order to look that way. We are all different shapes, weights and colors and that in itself is truly beautiful. You don’t see an Oak tree getting all upset because a willow bends more in the wind because it’s thinner… modern female competition is unneeded, unnatural and unfounded.

Woman denied citizenship for being to “submissive”

Posted by: by surrender4love on July 26, 2008 @ 9:28 pm

Faiza M. has lived in France since 2000. She is married to a Frenchman and has had three children in France. She has applied for French citizenship twice and has been denied both times by the French government. The reason she was denied? The French government believes she is too submissive in her marriage.

According to social services, she lives in “total submission” to her husband and male relatives including her father and brother-in-law. Click here to read full article over at the Scotsman News online.

Now, when I first saw the headline: Burka-wearing woman denied citizenship for being ’submissive’, I thought that surely this must be some kind of joke. You know, maybe a case of sensationalizing a headline just to get people to read it but nope, it’s true.

What dominance means to me (Part 1)

Posted by: by conquer4love on April 7, 2008 @ 1:00 am

**start-note** It should be noted that the explanations I use bellow are in reference to OUR Long Term 24/7 TPE and not to people who come in for short to medium term play. This post should not be assumed to represent the ideals or thoughts of any other dominant that you come across, in fact I find them to be a little uncommon when speaking to many other doms in the world.**end-note**

Dominance in the family and relationship is important and one of the major factors to the success of our relationship.
I have been in many vanilla relationships in the past but they were always tarnished with the back and forth power plays that plaque most “equal” couples. Our D/s relationship has allowed me to take the reigns in our relationship and direct where the family goes, where we focus our efforts and how we get where we are going.

BDSM is not abuse and should not be seen as such.

Posted by: by conquer4love on March 17, 2008 @ 12:38 am

Consensual aggressive play between adults is not abusive and should not be seen as such.

Consent, it’s a simple word with simple meaning. Webster’s Dictionary defines consent as “compliance in or approval of what is done or proposed by another” and “agreement as to action or opinion”. You hear often from those who are not part of the lifestyle that BDSM is abusive. People who are not a part of the lifestyle can often mistake the bruises and scratches of rough play as signs of abuse. The BDSM lifestyle is about consensual actions taken by grown and knowledgeable adults.
